I don't think that they do that. I think, they make a home for just another group of people to feel wanted. Depression can't really be forced on you, but it's spreading like crazy. I guess depressed people just have a natural attraction to each other?

Though look on the bright side of emo, it 'thins out the herd'. Hopefully it will leave the free thinking individuals that might help fix the world...or social outcasts, who knows?

If every emo would kill him-/herself, then there wouldn't be too many emos left by now.
Same as people who play violent computer games. Only people who were already wrecked to begin with will consider running amok after playing a game, just like no normal person would hang him-/herself, when he/she hears about a mythical thing which could happend after death O_o

It's possible that they're just overdiagnosing depression, like ADHD. Today, though, among many people, it seems to be "cool" to have something wrong with you. People actually brag about any mental problems they may have. I wouldn't be surprised if many "depressed" people were just acting that way because they think it's "cool".

Same with suicide. It seems to be an attention-seeking thing in certain cultures, only in the past, those kids really needed attention (to show that something IS wrong with them). Now, kids like the attention they get. Of course, since they really do kill themselves when they don't get the attention... well, yeah, there are too many people in the world anyway, particularly developed nations that use up resources. If they lack the judgment and maturity to treat themselves and others properly, then they're not going to be successful in life anyway.
