    Default Dreams.

    This link is interesting, I'm not sure if it's accurate or not though. I'd like to have a discussion about dreams interpretation/psychology/mental condition whatever. (I haven't checked if this topic has been discussed before and necroing is bad.)
    (Also feel free to discuss any of your dreams or knowledge of psychology related to dreams.)

    Aren't dreams like your subconscious thinking or something?

    Anyway, the other day I had this nightmare where I was sitting on a bed with two other girls. We had a nice conversation, but the other girl, her sister seemed kinda quiet. I asked her sister what was wrong, and she replied, oh she's dead...

    And I woke up. And I was really freaked out.

    I got a lot of dreams who don't fit into the categories of your link. Most of my dreams are a mix of the stuff I saw / thought about in the last few days + mostly abstract bullshit. Almost none of my dreams have to do with my desires. They don't have any truth and they don't tell anything about the future.
    I even got dreams where I am not existent in the dream and only watching from outside, as if I would watch television or something.
    Well, at least they don't fall into your categories if you don't make them into dreams from the devil (wtf? nightmares?).

    "O, then, I see Queen Mab hath been with you.
    She is the fairies’ midwife, and she comes
    In shape no bigger than an agate-stone
    On the fore-finger of an alderman,
    Drawn with a team of little atomies
    Over men’s noses as they lie asleep;
    Her chariot is an empty hazel-nut
    Made by the joiner squirrel or old grub,
    Time out o’ mind the fairies’ coachmakers.
    Her wagon-spokes made of long spinners’ legs,
    The cover of the wings of grasshoppers,
    The traces of the smallest spider’s web,
    The collars of the moonshine’s watery beams,
    Her whip of cricket’s bone, the lash of film,
    Her wagoner a small grey-coated gnat,
    Not so big as a round little worm
    Prick’d from the lazy finger of a maid;
    And in this state she gallops night by night
    Through lovers’ brains, and then they dream of love;
    O’er courtiers’ knees, that dream on court’sies straight,
    O’er lawyers’ fingers, who straight dream on fees,
    O’er ladies ‘ lips, who straight on kisses dream,
    Which oft the angry Mab with blisters plagues,
    Because their breaths with sweetmeats tainted are:
    Sometime she gallops o’er a courtier’s nose,
    And then dreams he of smelling out a suit;
    And sometime comes she with a tithe-pig’s tail
    Tickling a parson’s nose as a’ lies asleep,
    Then dreams, he of another benefice:
    Sometime she driveth o’er a soldier’s neck,
    And then dreams he of cutting foreign throats,
    Of breaches, ambuscadoes, Spanish blades,
    Of healths five-fathom deep; and then anon
    Drums in his ear, at which he starts and wakes,
    And being thus frighted swears a prayer or two
    And sleeps again. This is that very Mab
    That plaits the manes of horses in the night,
    And bakes the elflocks in foul sluttish hairs,
    Which once untangled, much misfortune bodes:
    This is the hag, when maids lie on their backs,
    That presses them and learns them first to bear,
    Making them women of good carriage:
    This is she—"

    I haven't had a memorable dream in a while... not since the one about me getting my ass beaten and raped by some 90 lb Vietnamese sorority chick, crying for the cops only for them to come and get beaten and raped too.

    I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
    I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
    before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

    I had a dream that I was sitting in the schoolyard of my elementary school, looking at my university library (with sunglasses on, fortunately) when it caught fire and the top exploded. And... uh... a couple thousand people died. Strangely enough, it was not a nightmare, since I wasn't scared at all... just very surprised. Oh, and there was stuff about finding a highschool friend's sister when I went to give the family some bread (like... the packaged, sliced kind) and she was calmly saying "Everyone died, but it's okay, want to come in and have some juice?". And we're like "...but your apartment is missing two walls..."

    I don't think that all dreams have subconscious meanings to them. When you sleep, your brain processes information and deals with stuff from when you were awake, so a lot of dreams might just represent what you were thinking about/dealing with before. Whether it's true or not (subconscious desires) is another story.
