I burst out laughing when I read that.

Whether it's true or not (subconscious desires) is another story.
^Both ideas are popular theories for dream formation. Your idea, the activation synthesis theory, says that dreams integrate all of what you learned in order to collate your memories, while the whole subconscious desire idea came from Freud. Obviously the former has more support and evidence supporting it, considering it was a less subjective theory and could thus use data to test it partially.

I've also been short on the dreams I remember lately. The last one I had that I remember was 2 weeks ago when I nearly pulled an all-nighter and had this euphoric dream where I was talking to some hottie I met at the beach.

The weirdest dreams I've had include getting chased by a berserk C3PO flailing it's arms as it chased me out of a cave in the desert and another one where the apocalypse was literally coming on the town I used to live in and there were bandits and huge fires everywhere chasing after running civilians. Goriest part was when my dad was beamed with a hammer to the head and dropped dead. Very weird dreams, both of which happened when I was 7 or 8.

but i have had this one weird reoccurring dream. Aliens come from outer space and attack.....hahaha. Believe it or not, it spooked the crap outta me. xD
The link is not an article, it's more like a dictionary where you put a word that talks about a dream or something.
I don't have a lot of scary dreams, I remember when I was smaller a dream in which I was chased by something, and I was moving in slow motion. (Happened more than once.) Another dream in which there was a psychotic (maybe mouse faced) cook, who noticed I was around. Rather than turning scary, the dream went comedic in which we had a matrix fight type thing.
Worst dreams I have are sad ones in which a relative dies. On a different notes, anyone here had annoying times where it seemed you where half awake and you either had tetanus in the jaw or back/parallelization/pressure/etc ?

In that dream system, I wonder what a mad blonde woman who (kindof looked like one of my daycare/kindergarten teacher) cuts of her own chin to see how sharp her knife is, after killing three people, and then proceed to start cutting your throat with i,. (at that point I woke up with a scream almsot pissing my pants) represents.

As for less old dreams I really haven't had a dream I can remember for atleast half a year.

I don't really believe in 'interpreting dreams'. What I see mostly in my dreams are things that I have encountered or at least associated with (read, glanced, heard etc). Unless your dreams contain imagery and audio that you haven't even encountered, then that might be something worth interpreting. Based on personal experience, people with more vivid dreams are people who deals with creative work and those with more unsure random stuff are people on the top of my class. (based on 5 people. hehe)

I'm a person who does not dream much, and when I dream, I vaguely remember or I can't remember. Even more strangely, much of my dreams happened when I slept in class. Now that I'm a graduate and have a home based work. I review a lot of equations and I sleep on them when I'm stuck. Silly it may seem, I tell my brain to work on it while I sleep and it works most of the time. One time I dreamed about my work in a The Matrix like environment, flashing equations infinitely fast. I woke up in the middle of the dream, and I was wet with cold sweat, feet cold on a summer.

^ If you study a subject a lot, you might dream about it. My uncle told me he used to dream about math, yesterday I heard my little sis define some stuff in geography. Was kinda funny.

^your sister talks in her sleep? ^^

hmm I vaguely remember my dreams. I do remember it more clearly when I woke up but after a few hours I wouldn't be able to remember most of it. It's mostly about movies that I've seen before I went to sleep. Hacking zombies is fun

She does (if you talk to her). I also remember her sleep walking once when we were small.
