I've just been reading about the new villain on the block in the Spider-Man series. There's a lot of speculation as to who he is exactly, because Marvel have only recently released his name and an image:
His name, my people, is 'Anti-Venom'.
Why another symbiote enemy? And furthermore, why another Venom incarnation? We had the black suit first, then Venom, then Venom underwent about 1000 changes whilst Eddie Brock held the character, then there was a clone, and then WolVenom and then Carnage, then the five foundation symbiotes, Toxin, Hybird, Venom 2, Mac Gargan as Venom and now this!
I can recall the original creator of Venom and Carnage, David Michelinie, saying Venom and Carnage were meant to be unique, that at the end of the day, all other symbiotes would be destroyed one way or another and that Venom and Carnage, attached to their original hosts, would remain the last. So, I'd like your input on what's going on here, and what Stan Lee must be thinking?
