The video explains how the carbon material is still able to support the structure in events such as earthquakes and tsunamis. It would even protect Tokyo from the tsunami because of it's towering defense.

Yessss. I watched the video. When the ENTIRE section on whether it can withstand earthquakes or Tsunamis is 'Theoretical' .... well 'nuff said. The chances of a human '1st' going right on the first try... are astronomically low. The egyptians didn't get it the first time, neither will Japan most likely.

Have they figured out a way to have it withstand earthquakes and tsunamis while its still under construction?. No mention of that. Just the finished product. One freak disaster and its probably done.

Don't get me wrong, I never said it couldn't be built... near unlimited funds and time make most things possible... but withstanding the test of time...? heh, goodluck.

^ The twin towers yes since it might affect the economy, but who will attack a homeless shelter?

It still would be cool if it was built.

And supposedly, according to the video, it's supposed to be able to withstand the strength of a nuclear bomb.

But I doubt that. It's right open.
