13 Year Old - Attempted Murder by Peanut Allergy?

A Morton Middle School eighth-grader faces felony charges after putting crumbled peanut butter cookies in the lunch box of another student with a severe allergy to peanuts.

The allergic student, another eighth-grader, did not eat the cookies and did not suffer a reaction.

It was well known that the other student suffered from severe peanut allergies, Deffendall said. There was no known history of problems between the two teens, she added. Both students are 13.

So question is, do you think the offender knew the full extent of what they were doing, or was this blown out of proportion?

I read an article on this not too long ago. It seems instead of physical abuse bullies will resort to things like this to torment their classmates. Cruel little bastards, peanut allergies can be fatal.

I think the whole thing is blown out of proportion. The other student probably didn't know who bad a allergic reaction the other one would get. He/She was just pulling a practical joke. Kids dont know when to stop or when they have crossed the line. Just like the Kid that thought he was a sand ninja and died because he couldn't breathe. He went too far and shit hit the fan. They even said that no known problems between the two teens, so it wasn't because they hated eachother..

The student will face charges in the juvenile criminal justice system

C'mon, that kid didn't deserve that, that will surely make it worse...

Most likely, they didn't know the exact consequences of their actions. Even so, I do not think this should go without a punishment. One of his guardians should go to jail, I guess.
