I'm with Dante on this one... sounds like she went through the motions for so long that now she's doing something new and exciting. Motions still involved, but they're more fun.*

I too wonder if she'll really is happy, or will be happy with her decision later on. Kinda weird she's still going to school too.

The Malaysian connection is hilarious though. That's so damn stupid, and it has political written all over it. "We must control this notion that an islam poster child has gone bad!" Get over yourselves guys... I know there's people that think like that, but they arn't worth the time.

^ i kinda agree with you. the government would do quite a lot to keep ANYTHING they could boast about. had she finished her course, they would probably keep reminding the public how they helped her and all the crap. especially now that they've lost big time in the elections.

still, it just goes to show that it wasn't intelligence she had - just genius-level maths skills. She obviously couldn't think things through properly. For all her skills, she still couldn't think rationally for herself, and made all the wrong decisions. That's the sad part.

of course, her idiot father's to blame as well. i hate it when parents try to live their children's lives, like he's obviously trying (tried) to do, forcing her to do to much work, under such conditions...

Lawl, looks liek she has high Intelligence score, but her Wisdom score must be pretty low.

The article I dugg didn't seem to say anything to the light of her being poor and destitute... if anything it was the opposite.

I think some of you are missing the point; yes she had natural math aptitude but she was still a thirteen year old kid with the appropriate amount of maturity, in fact if anything it was likely stunted having spent her existence to that point under the thumb of her prick of a dad. The outcome isn't really that surprising.
