He did an experiment, but due to insufficient facts the experiment turned out to be a tragedy. It turns out he sucks at information gathering, his impatience and inadequence was a flaw that could not be accepted in this world. Now he is dead and we all rest easier. Soon he will fade into oblivion and the next worthless bastard will take his place. People will sigh once more and complain on who the fault lies with.

I quote from the epic movie "The Lion King":
    The circle of LI~~FE!

If he's in 5th grade he should have a had a good enough grasp of reality to understand that burying your head in the sand is a BAD idea. Kids these days are getting dumber and dumber. And it would be the parents fault more than it would be animes. They let tv do their parenting for them.

That, and most modern childrens cartoons are both not as nicely animated as in the 80's and 90's and lacks the fat moral cakes that one got fed back in the days. =P

After reading the thread starter I was willing to give this kid the benefit of the doubt, but you're right he did bury his head. I'd still call it a tragic accident, but really that wasn't the brightest thing to do. Now at least everyone in his class knows not to do that!

Still, there is the possibility that he only intended to be partially buried. Then without thinking, some of the other kids felt it might be funny to throw more sand on him. And then "oh no, I didn't know! He buried himself so I thought he was okay!" I can totally see that happening. Either way those kids are feeling some guilt right now.

BTW the quoted article in the thread starter appears to be incomplete. Here's the rest of it:
HeraldNet: Sandbox accident claims Everett boy's life

I wish I ain't gonna insult that kid, but WTF!! How f@#$ing retarded could those kids get??
A baby got more survival instinct than them. He's a 5th grader for GOD'S SAKE.
Its #$da*& HARDWIRED inside any human brain that anything that stops you from breathing is dangerous, and your instints should made you react somehow.

Anyway tigerm, i salute you for being the nicest guy, for being able to give that kid the benefit of the doubt. Whose fault was that?? I'll say it's the kid's, his friend's, his parent's and Naruto's fault he's dead now.

WOW!! i can't believe i'd just vent so much anger on that. I need to go to sleep right away.
Still, if anyone knew the kid's parents, i offer them lots of condolance. This happen just because it's that kid's time to go, and he's in a happier place now (provided that he stays away from sand this time around).
I love to read, and i read almost anything. So, let me read or pay dearly!!!
I'll just be frank and ask everyone:

Wow I'm surprised that some idiot politician didn't have a knee-jerk reaction and scream to the media "WE NEED TO BAN ANIME FOR THE CHILDREN!" like they do for virtually everything else (like Australia did for 'SAMURAI SWORDS' in 2004 and that law actually passed).
