Hahah, ok, here's my reasoning then:
Relationships are about trust and devotion. If your girlfriend is going to cheat on you before you're married, she has shown that she doesn't deserve to be trusted and that she hasn't got the devotion to make the marriage work. Same goes the other way around.
That's my opinion. Discuss!

But with the exponentially growing population, the chances of finding someone and then NOT finding someone better is so abysmally low that open relationships are logically the best way to sate emotional needs and still make the best possible pick for a mate.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm a one woman man. Pick someone, stick with him or her. If another person comes in and you absolutely feel like he or she is the ONE, break it off with the first one at least. Have some dignity.
