Default CliffsNotes Have Never Been So Modern

There's enough intellectuals with chips on there shoulder here, so I'll just post a link, summarize a little bit, and let happen what will.

    CliffsNotes - Shakespeare Manga Edition

After all the decades of teachers vehemently opposing the mini-novel, plain text versions of these books, there's finally a way to get those hard to read classics in an even less literate way. While I kind of enjoyed the sample pages, I'm still a bigger fan of the original full text formats. Anyway, what's the general consensus on this kind of thing?

*grins* what you've always wanted right? :P

All I know of the Shakespearian classics other than the few I've actually read the whole way through is from a little 50 or 60 paged coloured book that summarizes the Shakesperian top 10 plays XD

Unlike traditional manga, these books read front to back and right to left, the way you're used to reading.
    That's not how I read.

I've seen these at the local bookstore. I've flipped through them, and it's pretty horrible. It's almost like reading those Wishbone super-condensed stories, except these ones have pretty pictures (no Romeo x Juliet lemon, tsk).

That wasn't Shakespeare. That was Sophocles.

After looking at the sample page for Macbeth, somehow I don't think providing lots of pictures for readers to look at is going to compensate for the lack of margin notes and other information you would find packed into an almighty huge unabridged complete collected works college version that tries to help readers better understand the old english being used.
