I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

So what? I dont get your point at all.
As long as there are people existing willing to pay these sums, there will be people selling for these sums.
And the point is the location. The big apple is very expensive ever since because of the lack of space.
What is a million worth?
Not much... its a "beginning". Nothing more.
You can call yourself rich starting with 20m at least. I would call myself rich with like 50m.
No. Absolutely not.
You may find it ridiculous to say that a million is nothing, buts thats reality.
You cant change anything with a million, you can buy yourself a house and a car, and thats it.
Cool, still nothing.

Neruke, you obviously don't appreicate the value of money. 1 million dollers will, in the right bank account, allow you to live the rest of your days (off the interest) in comfort in most countries.
Maybe not England or America, but certainly in places like India or China.
... money's only considered worthless for those that already have enough for shelter and constant supply of food/clothes.
edit:
actually, 1 million is enough to live with for the rest of your life, anywhere. consider putting all of that into a bank account with even 3% interest - that's 30k a month. if that isn't enough, you're living some luxurious life-style.
You guys are slaming Neruke, but, he is right. You can barely wipe your ass with a mill. You are sent into the highest tax bracket(so then you are fucked). 30 to 50 mill is what you would want.
This thread is not about what a million dollars CAN'T get you its about the vast difference across the country about what it CAN get you.![]()

I don't really see what's so weird about that, Steal. If you live in cities and other expensive places to live, a million dollars buys you a regular home or apartment. If you're willing to live outside of such places - often in suburbs - you get a large house for that price. It costs more to live in cities... and for some reason, that doesn't surprise me at all.
Oh, and Henchy and neruke are totally correct. Having a million dollars really doesn't mean a lot these days, especially if it's your net worth and not having an extra million dollars hanging around in the bank. The idea that a million dollars would be enough to let anyone live a comfortable life is a very naive view for someone in a developed nation to have, actually.
And as for interest - do you really think that would cover taxes and other necessary payments entirely, particularly if you want to live "a comfortable life"?
Edit: echo, 3% interest is 30k a YEAR. Not a lot.
