Thread: Sneaker Fetish

Don't know if fetish is the word to use, but I find it appropriate at this moment. Okay, so I decided to make a thread about sneakers in general. I mean I see people spend money of sneakers that are worth $200+ which isn't even retail value, but store value. Not to mention if you go on eBay they are probably more. Now what would be interesting to discuss is peoples view on ST is this healthy or bad. I mean I like sneakers and all, but some people go extreme.

There a bunch of terms for people who love sneakers a lot and spend a lot of money on them. So basically what are you guys views on this new trend of wearing expensive sneakers.

I like me a good pair of nikes. But there is a point where it is just a waste.

I feel about the same way I do about people who wear expensive suits or ultra costly jewelry when they don't even "go anywhere."- It's an ego inflation, ulterior compensation, based on an unexplainable obsession. If someone wants to use their own money to buy things that they can brag about, or feel better knowing they have them, that's good enough for me; until it begins to erode their life or obligations. Still, I'd rather spend my money on something that gives back some form of entertainment or nutrition, honestly.

Meh. I have like...3 pairs of shoes. Chuck Taylors for everyday walking around, Adidas for sports, and Rockport for dressy situations. None of them cost over $150.

I saw a site that sells BAPEstas for $75... I just want some new Air Max 90s though, definitely some 95's. Although my sneaker collection is leaning more towards DC now.

I'll spend maybe 60 on basketball shoes, otherwise i keep it at the 20-30 range.

I don't know what shoes are sold for 20 - 30 dollars... Even my sisters Chuck T's were like fifty bucks in Famous Footwear. Starbury's Ones are ugly as sin too... My Draven slip-ons were on sale half off of MSRP $65...

i've got like 3 pairs of shoes. My pumas, my dress shoes, and my leather boots.

Pumas for the casual, the dress for looking nice, and the boots for whenever i want.
