Thread: Things you can't joke about with girls...

I hate it every time my friends play the "we are gay jokes". Just freaks me out.

My friends don't :P Never have. (or I'd probably have had to hit them XD)

Actually, my point was that the threadstarter is a whiny little bitch, but anyway.

To be honest, I can take PMS jokes pretty well; I don't get offended at them. The only one I really object to is the last one; there's a reason you don't say your significant other's friends are cute, and the outcome is that you're not together anymore. To joke about it is just plain stupid.

I mean... although I do a lot of improper jokes, and feel ok with that, most of the people act under duress just to be political correct.

Yeah, I reckon alot of these depend on your personal relationship with the other person. I tend to have joked about alot of those things with most of my friends/gfs in the past, and they get a bit scowly for a bit, but know it's all in fun.

Depends alot on the spectators as well. If, for example, you're alone together and make some kind of joke about a girl's breasts, that's a whole different story to pulling out some one-liner at a busy party or something.

You forgot about fat jokes. Girls hate fat jokes.
But they're fat, anyway. :3

A Fat joke would award you some pain time~ lots of pain...

But all depend the one telling the joke, you need to have that funny bone, otherwise it would be just akward moment, specially if its a touch joke.

I think the only think I don't go joking around, would be some unknown subject like parents/relatives of the person (If I don't know them), stuff on the wall that I don't know who made^^ (Ugly people pictures, omg tempting jokes, but last time it was the late gramma of the girl, and she loved her.. good I played smart and asked about FIRST)

All thoses things mentioned, you can get a general feeling if the person is confortable with it, or not.

I can see where 3 out of things said are true. Insecurities are always a big factor when talking to people. Also the fact that some people are so blunt at times, they don't catch what slips out of their mouth and then just jab peoples insecurities sucks.

One of the problems with period/PMS jokes, I think, is that they're obviously considered to be a disadvantageous thing. It's the same with small anything - I'm really touchy about my height, not because I'm insecure about being short but because it is clearly a bad thing to be of small stature in this society. There aren't any advantages, and you can't joke about tall people. In the same way, people never make jokes about large penises (breasts, sometimes, but it's rare).

The other reason that they're not well-received is because (stereotypically) guys tend to toss them off as excuses for a girl being upset, which is just wrong and shouldn't be tolerated. It's fine when that's really the excuse, or it's just a minor bad mood or whatever, but discussions need to be serious.

I feel your "pain" I'm short too, and very aware of it. Most of my friends are 5'4 and above. I'm 5'2 so I am short.

Also, I agree how people put two and two together when it comes to periods. Just because a girl is in a bitchy mood does not mean PMS. It could be other things. Most of the time it is other things.
