now women can have kids without fathers ! the concept seems like some odd mix of sperm donor, test tube babies and asexual reproduction =\

I do not see the problem. It's not as if every single person will start having their babies that way. That's mostly an aid for sterile and homosexual people. The only thing that concerns me is that probably, the number of adoptions will probably go down.
As odd as it may sound coming from a male, I think it's about time the option existed. What better for lesbian parents than a child that was truly born from both of their DNA. And like Dante just said above me - permanently sterile parents can now exist.
Now if it only worked the same way for gay men.
On the other hand, there was a discussion in my ethics class about how many parents are good for a child - the phrase of "it takes a village to raise a child" was brought up, and apparently, more parents are better for a child. Wouldn't that support the current situation of gay and lesbian couples who have children together? Besides, what could be better than two mommies and two daddies who love their children and also each other? :3
But really, it's cool to see how science has advanced so far that we can make cute little babies in so many different ways.

Even if they did make "synthetic" ova, Digi's scenario would be even better. Someone has to carry the embryo.
I'm no expert at Genetics and Biology...but unless they do a terrible job creating the sperm/ova - then the DNA will work the same regardless of gender. Unless I'm mistaken, gender means practically nothing at all when it comes to DNA.
Now, the unforeseen side effects that are not, as of yet, understood - that may result in deformities.
I like this. It gives options to people who cannot have children. I wonder about how someone could equivocate this to cloning.
I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,

Trust me people won't be doing this much. Someone go look at the pricetag. *wince* and they've been experimenting/doing shit like this for a while only the bonemarrow to sperm part is news.
