Thread: Cell phone camera shutter sounds

Now I could have sworn there was something mentioned here before but apparently I can't find the topic....

Anyway, I'd like to hear some opinions here on whether or not it should be made law that all cellphones with built in cameras have a built in shutter sound to alert others that photos are being taken.

*Note: Im just finding it quite relevant right now since I'm being photographed by someone in my lecture right now..

I think so, yea. At least the more recent North American ones. My Chocolate has a shutter sound and you can't turn it off, nor adjust the volume.

It makes voyeuristic photo taking quite difficult.

I have a phone where you can turn off the shutter sound. :3

My friend hates having her picture taken.. so I find that shutter sound often gets me a beating ;_;

It doesn't matter to me normally though ^_^ noone's ever going to take my picture ^_^

I just cover the speaker, or insert headphones. That sound is annoying.

I can't turn it off and it annoys me.

Oh well. At least I can do it with my SD870.

My Sony Ericsson W880i also has this sound and it annoys me..

... because I cant make voyouristic pics.

It was hard to do so once I got jabbed by the friend beside me about it. I mean, the girl was totally stalking me, which wouldnt be a problem if she was somewhat attractive...ah I think I just lost m point.
