    Mote point I guess but I would argue you become faster in a TRAINED unthinking state, where your reactions have been trained and imprinted in your mind.

    an unthinking state is NOT a good thing when you need immediate reaction in an unfamiliar situation.

    I dont know who of you is into martial arts, but in states of "not thinking" your practically invincible. Same goes for everything where you have to react very very fast.

    The biggest problem is that in the moment you think that you are not thinking, you leave this state because you started to think.

    I gave it up to try to reach such state by force... I think its impossible, or needs extraordinary training which I'm not able to do.

    I can easily drift off to a place where no one can reach me^ It takes years of practise (math classes/spanish) But I just stare at a spot somewhere in my vision, try not to focus, and bam. It looks like you are 'stoned' but just..daydreaming I guess^

    i think it's possible to blank out. I've done it countless times. I wasn't thinking, i wasn't doing anything, but just losing my mind.

    When I dance this happens. Also, I will be talking to someone or thinking about something and blank out.

    @adonai

    nah, her mental processes are all normal afaik, besides it seems that other people on this board have the same condition (?)

    @shautieh

    i get the same problem =\ sometimes it's hard to fall asleep 'cause my mind won't shut up

    @henchy

    for dancing, i don't really zone out but have this weird out-of-body experience, like i'm observing myself in 3rd person.

    I don't think much, that's an entirely different problem that I must overcome first.

    I think you can blank out. I agree with the whole right before you go to sleep thing. I also think that if you're listening to a song and you try to focus on it you can clear your head pretty well.

    Blanking out is totally possible, in my opinion. I have more than enough experiences with presentations to prove said point.
