Default Huckabee: Religiously Amend The Constitution

Video: The Constitution should abide by God's standards

I'd like to know what everyone's take on this concept and the potential effects it could have on his campaign. The idea that the Constitution of the United States is not religious enough, and therefore should be amended to be as such.

Personally, I consider such an idea being followed through to be the most "unamerican" thing one can do; far outweighing the concept of desecrated the American Flag.

Read it earlier today, he's never going to win anyways, so it's really a non-issue in my opinion.

    Thats what I'm praying for.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.

Heard about stuff like this awhile go. Huckabee get's elected and there will most definately no longer be such a thing as seperation of church and state.

I seriously hope he doesn't get elected. Religion and government should not mix >.>

Believing in very stupid things doesn't exactly seem like courage to me, it's just that, stupidity.

You know what the really scary part is? The fact that a clown like Huckabee actually scores second highest of the republican candidates in the national polls. There is an unlikely, but very real risk that he can weasel himself to a VP nomination if the field stays divided, and that would be bad. Very bad. Specifically a McCain/Huckabee ticket would be exceptionally dangerous.

If McCain would be elected with Huckabee as VP, there's a non-negligible chance that McCain would die in office. And if that happens, well, you're pretty much screwed.

^ He's going to be effectively castrated by the congress if that happens, only thing I can think of that might be significant would be if one or more of the justices die, but even then, he's going to have to choose someone at least moderately sane to get confirmed.

Still, he could do a lot of damage, but criminalizing abortion or getting replacing the IRS with a flat sales tax? I doubt it.

It's pretty amusing that this is happening actually, the Republicans mobilized the Christian right (who had always avoided politics before then), and continuously paid them lip service, now they have a candidate that's actually a former baptist minister, who's helping to tear the party apart. The schadenfreude is delicious.

I'm struggling to find things to say on this subject. All I feel is pity for every American who stands to be affected by this stupid idea. Basically this will mean that everyone has to follow christian teachings regardless of their faith. Whatever happened to land of the free?
