Chinese cars in North America
heard about the story while parents had the radio on. the host asked the - mostly Chinese Canadian - audience whether they would buy the car when it arrives.
one of the audience really annoyed me with "of course I would! Chinese people should buy Chinese cars; Japanese people should buy Japanese cars; foreigners should buy foreigner cars - people should support their own country!" which is one of the stupidest things I've heard
anyway, would anyone consider buying these cars ?
I'm going to whatever the hell kinda car I want.
But I'd consider buying a Chinese car. Their mechanical work ain't bad, and I reckon it'll be cheaper than a Toyota for a car of the same size. So why not.
I'll bet that most of these cars are ripped off of the more famous Japanese/European cars design/models
well if you had seen what motorcycle and bikes they have been producing
and flooding here in this 3 world country Suriname.
then you know what I'm talking about
But I'll give them 10 years or so
before they can actually produce something original
Just look at what state the Korean car industry are!
Wouldn't buy it, that shit will fall apart before you even get inside.
No offense to those here who display what I'm about to renounce, but, I still don't understand how someone can show patriotism to a country they have never lived in and, more importantly, would never choose to live in.
More to the point, if you're people come from China, and you immediately say "I'll buy that to support my country," and assuming the above claim is still in effect with you, is that not denouncing your own country of birth and current residence in exchange for one that you, personally, have no connection to outside of a previous generation's coincidental birth location?
Id consider the Chinese car, probably because it would probably be offered at a price that a) no car manufacturer from Europe or North America could compete with
b) something I could afford to buy without getting a loan
In the end I see those reasons fueling sales for such a car. Nationality has no basis in this topic.
As far as I know are chinese cars forbiden around here because they failed in the security requirements.
I only heard of a limosine-class car which should have costed 8000€ or something and didnt get a license for being sold here.
Japanese: cheapest, most reliable
German: saftiest, best workmanship
Thats it, everything else is totally crap.
If it's cheap, looks ok and actually can survive the weather here, sure.
Though I'm happy with my mercedes right now. I want a chevrolet camaro '69 though.
Well, I'm a foreigner here, so I can then buy all but american cars.
