Just call it a bad day and leave is a mistake, they cut the head that kept everything under control... a new and powerfull head is needed in order to regain stability.
can it be achieved? don't think so, there is just no one in Iraq that seems to be able to do the job, and inmporting assholes from outside the country is never a good idea, I don't see a way out that doesn't involve some serius hardships.
Don't forget it is an isolated case ! There are cops in the US and elsewhere who are worse than the criminals they are supposed to arrest, but that doesn't mean the police force does more harm than good on the whole.

i hate to say this, but iraq is such a mess right now. If we withdraw then sure, the civil war for power will go out of hand. And since we're not withdrawing, we're having casualties that seem to have very little meaning to them.
Personally, i think it is best that we withdraw. I mean sure there will be a civil war there and that will clearly be our fault, but we have to know when to call it quits. Our soldiers are suffering from a mistake (at least imo) and we got to know when to cut our loses. Call me naive or whatever you want, but here's a small reason why i believe we still have soldiers there. Oil, yes oil. If we stay there and get eventually get a solid government going (which wont happen anytime soon) we will have a good foot hold on oil. We obviously wont be running the country, but we'll have a good ally that would be good enough.
and yes the war does affect me personally. My brother in law just got back from iraq, a good friend of mine just went to iraq, and one of my best friends who was going to iraq passed away.
Civil war = +$200 per Barrel >_>
yeah, let the whole world suffer for united states stupidity >_>, I rather send 100 soldiers of my shitty country to iraq and see them die, than to cause suffering world wide >_>
and Yeah I would go to Iraq if that fixes anything >_>
First we need to stop using oil in such huge ammounts, we need an alternative energy source...
<_< then again is not like the United States and co will led the rest of the countries build nuclear reactors, and is not like Wind power is an option.
Go out BAD IDEA, Stay in BAD idea, the only real way to make this work is by regaining stability in the Middle east.
there are several drastic ways of doing this.
Nuke israel, If the second most hated nation in the middle east politics destroys the most hated one, then something can actualy be gained >_>
Nuke the rest is not an option since that would destroy the oil that we seek and root for...
there are more real ones, but I will let that as a home work... cause I have to go to work.
Have a good night and remenber, being an american is not as cool anymore.

Yes we left them in an unstable sitution and if they can't manage to pan things out without killing eachother then so be it...
Just because we knock down thier house of cards and leave them with a deck of only 34 doesn't mean they need to burn the remains...
Pull out. Period...
You're joking, right? Why would we nuke Israel? They're our allies.

If the world isn't going to help, American soldiers are there already. Yes, they're dying. That's very sad. Are their lives worth more than those of Iraqis? No. And I honestly think it's far better for lives to be sacrificed in the interests of stabilizing a country long-term than losing those lives to a civil war. The US shouldn't have gone to Iraq, but that doesn't mean that it can just remove itself and pretend nothing happened.

Don't worry, you guys are contributing in Iraq too!
