I'm just surprised that the guy didn't harbor ill-will against her.

If the birth mother and adoptive parents both live in the same general area, and the adopted child never moves far from home after becoming an adult, then the odds are probably good that many adopted kids and their birth mother have crossed paths at some point and just didn't realize it at the time.
If I were adopted, I doubt I'd ever bother trying to dig the information up and contact her. Better to just let the past stay buried unless there's a very good reason for digging it up decades later. Like find out your dying and in desperate need of a compatible tissue or blood donor. |

Aww, it all turned out okay in the end. But like rabidfuzzybunny, if the parents doesn\t bother taking care of me when I was a baby, I wouldn't give a Fuck about them.

I just know there's a mangaka out there somewhere who will read your post and suddenly get a flash of inspiration for their next project.

oh man, i was thinking this as i was reading the article. manga has skewed my brain =\
as for finding out after you've been adopted; it's a curiosity thing as well as a health concern thing. some people won't care for the former - they'll be like, these people raised me therefore they're my *real* parents as far as i'm concerned. but there might be hereditary diseases and stuff that you might want to know. |
