People are misunderstanding the poll question. I left out the none option for a reason. The question is not whether you are comfortable discussing religion and politics but whether the people you talk with (your friends) are comfortable with religion and politics. If everyone you associate with hates both religion and politics (or doesn't hate them at all) then your answer should be Both Equally.

I'm the only Eclecticist around, and some of my friends and family members (who are mostly Catholic) like to discuss about religion and politics (especially, the latter). All the same, how much I discuss, and how many topics I cover in those discussions can vary between people.

I'de say religion. Everytime I get into a debate about religion, either I get someone pissed off or someone pisses me off. So, I avoid topics that involve religion.

Religion hands down, because it is something that people consider to be just a part of them, where as politics is something people are a part of, and this difference I think that makes religion a subject that is touchier than politics.

Religion. I have friends who are spread far and wide over the political spectrum, including one supposed communist (I myself am slightly right of center). However, all of my friends are either agnostic, atheist, or Catholic. lol. Even I don't know how to make of that.

hm, i don't talk much politics with people, but from what i know, they're either liberal or apathetic.

how does one debate religion anyway ? faith itself is a something separate from logic.

^Which religion makes better suicide bombers.

I don't know...maybe the doctrines of each religion. I remember getting into a debate with one of my Catholic friends about evolution and homosexuality and whatnot (I'm an agnostic). So yea. You could discuss religion.

lol well being the conflict avoidance person that I usually am..

I tend to stay away from both, partially because I shy aways from expressing my opinions in general with friends, partially because I try to stay quiet if I don't agree with someone.

Instead of arguing my point (which often isn't well formed enough to argue) I tend to play the devil's advocate when such issues come up, which in my group of friends is almost never because most of us are too lazy, too laid back or to apathetic to bother

In that case I'd say I've pissed more people off by politics than religion. Might have something too do with that more or less non of my friends are religious to an amount where they care about it.

As for what too discous with religious people. I go with pushing their moral codes on others that doesn't belive in them. For example, abortion. And just differances in different religions, as for belivers I most likely know far more beliving muslims than beliving christians.
