Default Why do black people flip when hearing the 'N' word???

I really don't get the idea here.. I mean the 'N' word is simply just a word. And how come when people call asians as 'yellow' they don't get mad (personally, as an asian, being called yellow is highly offensive but I don't really get mad and so why can't black people do the same as well)

If Am a black dude and I hear the 'N' word, I'll be like OK its just a word? BIG DEAL..Who cares about that and it doesn't define who you really are. I know that its not just a word for most people and is filled with horrible history but can we just move on and not dwell the past?

(BTW, this thread is by no means, being racist or whatsoever. It is just a thought of me personally)

    YOUR THOUGHTS ANYONE?

    I hate the N-word.

You do know it's roots right? It's derogative. It's degrading. It's roots are grounded in slavery. It is a demeaning way to make somebody less human. It's a social taboo word.

I don't approve of words like that. It's like coming to my face and going "china doll" or "ching chong-ching chong" (damn you Rossie O Donnald).

    I hate racial slurs.

Some times I wonder why I am nice to the newer members. This thread should just be removed for it's stupidity.

^Why? Its a reasonable question he made.

In dont get it either why people are so offended by it.

Especially if you consider that lots of black people refer each other as "niggers". And imo this is just used as a joke and doesnt offend anyone.

@Adonai your link does not work.
@Neru look at CPRs post. Sure calling Asians yellow is offensive but how do you know calling black people black isn't offensive? Or that I am not offended when you call me white? It's not like you know my fucking heritage so you generalize. Sure people should say Asian and not yellow but the fact of the matter is there will never be a world without ignorant tawts out there so you shouldn't add to it especially with words you know are derogative.

^ how can you say "Asian" either ? Maybe the guy's family has been living elsewhere for 10 generations for all you may know, so calling someone Asian because of his color is totally pointless.
I can understand the problem in english with words like nigger or ching-chong, which are clearly pejorative, but Black or Yellow (or White, or Red, or Blue...) is simply descriptive and should not pose problems unless you are being a dick :/ (the way you say it can be offensive though, but this is a general truth)

Exactly, and I get what you are saying I took their point of view a bit. My friends family has been living in America since his great grandfather I think, they still call themselves Asian however because of their heritage.

You know what's really sad? It's when I actually hope that the guy is trolling, because the sheer ignorance and idiocy that the opposite implies is even worse.
