Exclamation Man dies after being tazered at YVR

This is somewhat old news, but it's garnered a fair bit of attention here in Vancouver.

The related video can also be found here at YouTube.

So who do you think is at fault here? The airport for not helping the guy, the RCMP for use of excessive force, Taser International for manufacturing lethal non-lethal weapons, or the man himself for creating a disturbance?

Don't forget to mention how the RCMP issued statements about what had happened, then when the video surfaced proving those to be false, admitted they had made them without talking to the officers who were actually involved.

I can't say that inspires confidence...

Edit - Never mind, I found some of that in the article. It's still one of the things that's bothering me the most about this - if they screw up, I expect them to be honest about it.

I find it more sad that in this day and age, a police presence on school campus' is seen as normal. Maybe I am just more sheltered than someone from, say, London or New York, but I find that sad and disheartening.

I know when I have kids, I will work my butt off the make sure they can go to a school where the threat of taser-ing is not even a possibility.

Its partly his own fault, doin those kind of stuff in an airport in these days, not a good idea.
But they could have just made a tackle from behind, he had no way of hurting other people. And why the hell didn't they try to use CPR ??they killed the guy and just waited for the paramedics to arrive.

What got me the most about this story was that noone called a traslation agency... There ARE services available >< I'd say that makes it more of a fault in our processing of immigrants...

I agree. Tasering is a ridiculous tool to resort to, especially with the risk on mortality.

I am more upset by the airport's handling of the situation. Why they lacked translators beats me and their misinformation of the guy's mom was inappropriate.
