Way to go biased author, you just promoted the series even more.
This seems rather like a spoof.
I had heard Higurashi was good but, now I HAVE to see it. I only had to read "killer lolis" to know I have to.
Anime is evil, like alcohol. But people still drink alcohol even knowing that ;p
..and no anime can compare to South Park when it comes to being degrading for children ;p
^ True... even Family Guy or Simpsons can be harder for kids than most Animes.
Nah, I dont care. ^^
Since we have the inet, the world is ok...
NEEDS MOAR NEVADA-TAN!!!!11!!!one!!1111!1!1
Oh fuck! They've blown our cover!!!
The piece really tries to do a generalized hatchet job on anime based on few specific examples and questionable reasoning.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't find a specific mention anywhere in this blog entry that establishes the girl who killed her policeman father with an axe had previously watched Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai anime or read the manga for it.
The blog entry attempts to establish that there was a "life imitating art" link between an actual murder and the anime/manga, but then apparently fails to provide direct supporting evidence to support this conclusion. Instead an attempt is made to support this link by saying that "she was an aspiring mangaka...so it is pretty simple to conclude that she was heavily into anime and manga", and then claiming that an image provided from the manga is similar to the actual murder scene (even though police don't normally release graphic crime scene photos to the public for the writer to base such a comparison on).
