Default Wow, I was in shock when I heard this...

Robert Jordan, writer of the Wheel of Time series, has died at the age of 59 (without finishing his series, but is that really the most important part?).

I guess it just needed to be said, what with all the Wheel of Time fans here. I'm still in shock from hearing it. He was an amazing authour with many great ideas, and I really enjoyed reading his work. It's very sad that we'll never be able to hear the many ideas that he had, or hear another RAFO, even. That's what I looked forward to every time I went to a bookstore.

Damn, I can't write these kinds of posts. All I can do is direct you to his blog where there's the news, I guess.

Dargonmount and wotmania are both lagging horribly, too much traffic I guess.

I didn't expect this at all either, weird how that is, when we all knew his condition.

As for WoT, hopefully Harriet can continue writing it when she's ready.

This is bizarre. I literally had a random conversation about WoT this morning with a guy I work with, and he says he has been reading it since 6th grade(he's 31 now), and he said, "I just hope he doesn't die before finishing the last book." And he died at 2:45 pm. That is literally within 30 minutes of our conversation.

You know for many years now, I've always been meaning to try getting into the WoT series, but always ended up buying some other book. In fact, the last time I was considering it, I opted to get that Darth Bane: Path of Destruction book.

Well, all I can say is thank God I didn't get into the books, or I'd be depressed.

Eh. The guy who recommended me the series is the guy who recommended me A Song of Ice and Fire, and to be honest I found the first book in that series boring. Though I did warm up a bit to the Hedgeknight, even if I could never really get past the 'Ser' part.

So I'm not too keen on getting started on the series. Perhaps when they posthumously publish that last book, we'll see.

    ^ Have you read WoT?

If you're posting here, I'm assuming that you have, but you're not being very clear.
