I only post Wiki since it has sources for most of the info. What do you guys think? I know I wasn't the only one who sighed and thought "Damn, haven't we gotten past this shit?". These kids are gonna rot in prison for an insane amout of time for a single fight. I usually don't call racism on alot of stuff but jeez man... seriously.

1. I can't believe you can bring a shotgun to school and when someone kicks your ass and takes it you can get them arrested for theft and not face any punishment yourself.

2. I can't believe putting up nooses (obvious symbolism for lynching) only gets you three days in school suspension. I know if that was a damn swastika...

3. Tennis shoes are deadly weapons???

4. All-white jury??? Deliberating on a black kid??? Who beat up a white kid??? IN THE SOUTH?!?! Its like begging for someone to make a racist connection. I mean shit they might as well have just thrown in the word "unanimous" to complete the notion.

I'm not making any judgements, as the first kid in the case Mychal apparently isnt exactly a model of self-control and pillar of the social community, but seeing these guys get railroaded like this (shitty lawyers, no witnesses for defense, overexaggerated charges, no-biracial jury, etc)only seems to reinforce the thought that this is an example being made - that if you're black you cannot harm white kids, and if you really hurt one, ...you're fucked.

Why was he tried as a damn adult?!?!

I have to say being tried as a adult is pretty harsh and I have to agree 3 days is not enough they should have been suspended for a year or maybe expelled, 22 years for beating the shit out a white kid that deserved it, I mean yeah they should have been suspended but arrested? theres a limit to how far you can go and hanging nooses crosses the line,

man I feel sorry for those black kids........they don't stand a chance if its the south with all white jury

imo I find racist jokes and stuff is fine with friends, best one is from my black friend, "The black super hero has cotton picking powers and can jump 20 feet high"

What!?! Disturbing the peace??? What kind of eyewitnesses see that event and only come up with theft and disrubtion?

It dosen't matter whether you were talking specifically to the black kids or not you should still be hit with some kinda punishment for threatening the kids like that...

Although being in highschool I can tell you that my peers (used lightly) would have just laughed at that...

I'll agree that they went about it the wrong way and that all they've done is give Justin Barker more to "brag" about, but he totally deserved that ass kickin'...

In late July, U.S. Attorney Donald Washington noted the lack of connection between the noose incident and the beating at Jena High school, noting that the more than 40 statements all failed to mention the noose incident.

What!?! You need the 40 statements to mention it for you to get it through your thick skull that this was all racially fueled...

Well shit peoples, just because it isn't in the news doesn't mean racism doesn't exist. Lets be realistic, racist white people were forced by law to treat blacks "equally", after which still many hate crimes were committed......You know what I was gonna go on and on about this but I am tired of repeating myself year after year when America proves yet again that its justice system is flawed. Racism is a stupid, stupid thing and if you're going to ruin a young kid's life over it then you sir are a jackass.

When the 3 nooses were hung on the tree, the black students or their parents should have called the FBI. Their presence alone on campus would have put the students, school officials, local police, and the community on notice that the situation at the school was being treated as a serious matter.

Later on at the convenience store when the white student ran to his pickup and pulled out a shotgun and Bailey and his friends wrestled it away from him, why didn't Bailey call the police immediately to come to the convenience store so he could file a complaint and hand the weapon over to them?

It's a miracle this screwed-up mess didn't end in one or more students being seriously hurt or killed.
