Thread: Hippies do you hate them?

I really have to say I like some of their ideals, I have nothing against with environmentalism. It is what they do that I really hate. Such as trampling marshland that was previously untouched by man for many years, or just the amount of litter that they leave behind. I find them to be pretty hypocritical in that regard, I have even heard a few say something along the lines of "We leave it better than when we came." The truth was that they really ruin place when they have gathering, I forgot the exact word that they use. After all this they are not even respectable people, I finally understand why they are called "smelly hippies" they seriously reek.

I doubt that this sums up all hippies so I want to hear your opinions/experiences. I hope that I just had a bad experience and this not how the majority of them act.

Gandhi inspired the hippies to do a lot of things and made them what they are now,and i hate Gandhi,thus i hate the hippies.

I agree with Sirus all the way. Hippies may have nice ideals, but their practice of trying to achieve those goals is poor and they really make you go to an axtreme to agree or disagree with them.

I despise hippies as well. But more because I despise drugs. And tie die. And guys with long hair(Jesus doesn't count). And men that don't bathe. And liberal ideology. And new age crap. And men in touch with their feminine side. And any men that aren't chauvinistic. And because they are against guns. And hunting. And playing with explosives recreationally. And men without proper grooming and hygiene. And, despite my conservative views, I am also a lover of nature, and hate how their congregations, as said, trash the local ecosystem. And because of their elitist arrogance, where they think their views are superior, and look down on everyone else.

I think they're funny... meh.. I like some of them, but the ones I know are kinda tamer, and yeah I'm against drugs. Don't really like that... and some of them are kinda weird, but on the whole I think they're kinda funny/can be really cool ppl.

I'm surrounded by Preps mostly. Ya know... the popped up collar, the really short jean skirts, the designer shoes/shirt/handbag, the excessive makeup. dah works!

I'm a hippie, but since I'm prone to liberalism, I don't really give a shit. I'm use to change, so I adapt to it. Like something you conservative fucks should try.


I find that to be ironic, liberals are 'fighting' to keep something natural intact, but you 'conservatives' try to lay waste to something to make something new. God, this is a mndfuck.

I have met hundreds of hippies, I do, afterall, live near Asheville. I have seen the drum parties, that marches, the social festivals. All I have seen is talk, the hippies I have seen have never done squat.

There are only two groups I trust: libertarians, and conservatives. Conservatives know how to get things done and, though averse to change, are willing to try it(afterall, I am a pirate who likes linux based programs). Libertarians, on the other hand, I think have many of the best ideas, but they don't have the strength(in numbers) to accomplish much. That is why I hold both libertarian and conservative views. Also, it strikes me as odd that many liberals that push environmental causes(Hollywood types, and Al Gore for example) fly private jets that use up hundreds of times the amount of gas as my truck. Conservatives, I have seen, can be very environmentally conscious. In the end, I find that liberals just have no balls. They talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk.
