Eh, that's a religious belief so you can't say anything about that. They believe what they want to believe.

a lot of you guys need to read the article. the main point of "legalizing" reincarnation, is so they could cut off influence from the true dalai lama, and create their own. i doubt very much that they (chinese politicians) either believe in reincarnation or take it that seriously.

China. China. China. All you guys say this country's name as if the government and the nation itself are equivalent. The Chinese government is like any other: self-interested.

^We're just lazy and politically incorrect. It's easier to type China than it is to type 'Chinese Government' even though that's what we mean. Or at least, I'm speaking for myself.

Government do this all the time...

didn't one of Great Britain Kings cut ties from the Roman Catholic church and created it's own religion at one point cause he was mad at the Pope when they were talking about divorce?

something like that. my history knowledge is not entirely above par.... >_<

Henry VIII. One of his six wives, yes. He had one wife for, I think, 24 years, then went through a mid-life crisis and went through five more wives in 14 years.

^ Aye, he wanted his marriage annulled but the Pope at the time wouldn't because Henry's wife's nephew, who I think was the holy Roman Emperor or some such, was putting pressure him to say 'Nay'. So Henry decided to make himself supreme head of the new Church of England, which allowed divorce, though in practice I think he was still pretty much catholic.

I really don't see much point in this, it's not like there's any realistic way for Tibet to be an independent country with it's own native culture again in the foreseeable future. Still no matter how stupid this may appear, what matters is that it works in the way the PRC wants it to, which it definitely will.
