Thread: For those who believe in evolution...

... because there are some who don't for various reasons, I ask, what do you think humanity will look like hundreds of thousands of years from now. I mean taking the optimistic route and saying we don't kill ourselves first. I kinda like the idea from The Time Machine, where we're more ape like but our brains are larger and extend outside our skulls and down our spines. I mean its bad evolution as thats kinda dangerous but still cool. I think we'd be taller, live longer, and probably shoot lasers from our fingers (just kidding). I think there'd still be races but the physical differences would be much less pronounced. Aside from all the technological advancements... I dunno, maybe man and machine are finally united as on in a quasi-human organic cyborg kinda way. Shit... maybe we won't even call ourselves Homo Sapiens anymore....

yeah, we'll be known as robo-sapiens. =D

but umm...imo, besides the fact that integration with machines is inevitable (imo) i think we'll just be taller and what not. Like you said, less races, but still present. Overall though, i dont think there will be much change physically. The reason being is because anyone "not normal" we cast aside and say that it's a bad thing. Just like x-men!!!

We'll diverge into different species of super human and regular human. As a result, a great war will ensue because of the obvious differences and humanity's inability to accept new and strange things without waging some sort of war on it. Much devestation will occur. The regular humans will use the aid of technology to send robots against the super humans who will only use basic weaponry to slay their opponents with deadly effectiveness. Meanwhile...

Aliens will take this ample opportunity to invade but will underestimate the humans/super humans. Hence, it will turn into a 3 way long dragged out war. The Aliens will experiment on captured humans, creating human+alien hybrids and human+animal hybrids, with their higher functions of their mind purged and their single task to eliminate other forms of human life with the exception of their comrades.

Enter our story's protagonist: a 20 year old male who just wants to get laid! Be it a regular human, super human, or hybrid! Little does he know his quest for promiscuity will tip the balance of power, bringing the war to an cataclysmic end...

...I got a little carried away but that't the basic synopsis of the future. Either that or zombies...

Or we are just a byproduct of some super race that habited this planet years ago, and left us to see what happens..

But by the looks of I don't think much will happen.
Will just be funnier because in thosands of years, they will label us as CAVEMEN..

I think humans will be taller, have even fewer body hair, physically weaker (I am not taking scientific advances into consideration), and will live even less than we can. That people (referring to the next noticeable macro-evolutionary changes) will probably be bale to use 5%, or 10% more of their brain. I also think that they probably will be born without an appendix, and possibly other organs that may have become useless by then.

I like the idea of humans ending up evolving differently. Perhaps, that has already happened.

There's probably going to be even more pronounced pedomorphic traits, and people would also probably much weaker physically.

This is assuming that we aren't dead (most likely in my opinion), splintered into separate species, or have already passed a technological singularity which render natural selection meaningless.

Well I presume humans will be a lot taller in the future. And not so many physical changes but more in the human mind. Heck would be nice to start using our brain to the fullest. :P

See (Juggernaut Bitch! jokes aside) the problem I have with humanity evolving differently is that most species evolved to adapt to their environment. With humanity having easy access to the entire globe where would the separation occur? Maybe between space and Earth ....
