Fucking hell, no wonder everyone blames America for useing all the world's oil, 2.67 a gallon works out at about 77c per litre, which is about 30p, and while its cheaper in Europe than in the UK, over here we are paying about 1 per litre (give or take a few pence), I'm gonna make a guess that most of Europe is still paying double what America pays for its petrol.

It's about 95 cents per litre in Canada.. give or take 5 cents depending on the market. Well... where I live anyway. Alberta's prices are much lower.

That is because your tax on gas is so much higher.
America's tax on gas is about 14 percent the price of gas. From what I have read, in England, 78 percent of the price you pay for gas is tax(so the gas actually only costs about 22 percent of what you are paying), even higher in mainland Europe. Blame your government for being assholes, not the US(some have speculated that the exorbitantly high tax is not necessarily to generate revenue, but rather to control the people, keep them from going places as freely, especially in mainland Europe).
