Exactly, if someone leaves their wallet or cellphone around, then try to track that person down and give it back to them. If theres money less then a $5 on the floor, I'll take it, if it's more I'll try to find the owner. But if someone leaves money in my mailbox, which clearly shows that they want me to have it otherwise they wouldn't have put it in my mailbox in the first place, I'll keep it.

Hell I remember two years ago in school, in the morning. Some teacher I don't even know dropped about 4-5 $20 bills on the floor while talking on the phone, she didn't even notice she dropped it. I simply picked up the money, ran up to her, and handed it back.

Until one has given everything, one has given nothing.

Screw the rules, I have money.
I would return something with a name on it. If I found an unmarked envelope in a public place, I would hide the fact that I found it and keep it for sure. If said envelope was in my mailbox, the person who gave it to me knows where they put it. I wouldn't spend the money for at least a month, that way if they come back looking for reimbursement or something I would just return it.

I would actually not pick up money. Fifty dollar bill on the ground? Let someone else get lucky. Seriously though, a kid like me with money is like giving a group of kids a couple barrels of sugar.

This just happend to my parents last weekend, they found $150 on my little brother's wallet. They asked my little brother where he got the money , he said he just found around the house. My parents spent the $50 on groceries and gave the other $100 to the church during the mass.

If I honestly found $150 lying around anywhere, no doubt I'd take it, but hearing this just now makes me remeber how other people had a chance like this but they gave the money back and got back even more, more important than money.

But still if you found money in oyur mailbox somebody must have wanted you to accept that money??!?!?!!!

lol. Did they find the cash on his wallet or in it? If it was in it, you have kinda intrusive parents. If it was on, you have a stupid little bro. Either way, its funny that your parents just took it back use it on such mundane things.

So your brother found on the neighborhood of your house, $150 Or inside.. so if he found inside the money probably were theirs in the first place =p and they should have let your brother have some of the money.. its good for the kid to learn how to deal with money, he get fast the idea that money is limited when its all gone.. specialy because he found it.

What I do is, I get all coins I find on the floor(only inside my house, unless its 25cents.. 10cents is too small to pick can't pick fast enough. not worth the troble) and throw in a bucket tucked near my desk, and some months later I just go and exchange the coins for cash.

Its impressive the ammount of money just my sister leave on the floor.. she go to the bath, so some coins fall off the shirt or w/e.. when I go, I pick them up.. and so on.

Last time the bucket was full, it gave me about $120 (and weighted a ton )

$120!!! Holy Crap! If your sister knew, she'd be pissed . I think I'll start doing the same when I return home.

^What's guilt? When I see money on the street, I see free money. I'd just pick it up discreetly so that no one else could say they saw me pick up someone else's money.
