Even if it was a million yen, why wouldn't you return it?! That's an awful lot of money to lose, if someone did lose it, right? And anyway, it's probably better off going towards making the city a better place than in your pockets!

The way I see it, if its a wallet, I hand it in (if you take cash from a wallet, the owner will know); if its loose change on the floor and no one claims it as I pick it up, its mine; if its a note and is £10 or less (£5 note) its mine; if its a £20 note, I'll wait 10 minutes, if nobody comes looking, its mine; if its a £50 note, I'll wait 10 minutes then I'll ask in nearby shops if anyone has come asking, if nobody has, its mine.
Sounds like something they would do in an anime, they actually did it in the cartoon Recess when I watched it.
well what do you know..
^looking forward to seeing the country!
I read about this a week or two ago. Well, it was in their mailboxes. I mean if someone sent me money, I wouldn't call it suspiscious and hand it over to the police.

If it's a wallet. I will try and trace that person down. I have people at my job leave cell phones around, like unwanted babies. Do I take them, no. I try and call the person's home or office and tell them the phone is waiting in the lost and found.
I have also, worked as a cashier. When I was taught to "ring up". I was told to put the bill face up on the register. So, I would know if it's a 20 or a 50. If some dumb@ss, doesn't do his (or her) job right, too bad.
^You're too kind. I wouldn't even show that kind of courtesy. Take all the paper cash in the wallet and I'd drop the wallet right where I found it.
