Not for an old lustful lady like her. She blew one chance and passing her genes on. She doesn't deserve another.
And it is a tad nicer than the death penalty. She just won't be able to have sex...in a normal way?...

By the way, I don't really believe in quartering people (I've never seen it used as a punishment personally and the ramifications of it.... I just think it would be interesting arguing the position for this case).

I don't think you understand the term "quartering". That punishment was usually part of the "hanged, drawn and quartered" capital punishment.

    from Wikipedia:

Until 1814, the full punishment for the crime was to be hanged, drawn and quartered in that the convict would be:

    1. Dragged on a hurdle (a wooden frame) to the place of execution. (This is one possible meaning of drawn.)
    2. Hanged by the neck for a short time or until almost dead. (hanged).
    3. Disembowelled and emasculated, and the genitalia and entrails burned before the condemned's eyes (This is another meaning of drawn. It is often used in cookbooks to denote the disembowelment of chicken or rabbit carcasses before cooking).[2]
    4. Beheaded and the body divided into four parts (quartered).

Maybe he meant, "Having all limbs sawn off with a rusty saw and then having one's wounds cauterized by a burning branch, then placed in a box, alone in the dark, and fed once a day."

That would be a great punishment for something like this, and they don't even die. I would support it.

How everyone seems to want to torture these people to death. Its not like it was pre meditated or horrifically depraved.

They beat a child to death, the son of one of the people, and, as he was dying, threw him into a rice patty, a wet, muck filled shallow pond filled with manure(human and animal), so that he could breath his last covered in water and feces, as the shit(I think it is appropriate to use the strongest form of the word in this case) got into his bleeding head wounds and wormed down his throat.

How is that not horrific? He was a child, four years old, a baby, and they did that to him.

They didn't intend to kill him (the mother just lashed out, god knows what the man was thinking though), they threw him out 'cos they thought they had already accidentally killed him. Or at least thats how I read it.

The story said that he was still breathing(but not for long). Then the guy tells the girl to throw the kid out. They never said the kid died before throwing him out, I think it is safe to assume he was still alive.

Let's go over the facts. The mom beats her own son for defending her. The man mortally wounds the boy. The mom then, instead of helping her son, sides with her fling. That is horrific in and of itself.

What they do to the child next is worse.

Can't be as bad as what Jakko's kind do to children.

    I'll leave it at that.

I think I messed up in my definition then. What I meant as a punishment is more or less the second meaning of drawn, or the 3rd step of drawn/quartered that Animalia quoted.

    Ouch O.o
That was a awful and sadistic way to kill people >.>

My definition of quartered is more ancient (I learned of it when reading Asterix when I was young ), and simply consists of attaching the condemned guy's legs and arms to ropes connected to 4 horses, and make the horses go forth (in 4 orthogonal directions)
