Thread: Curse/Swear Words

What do you think about them? People say its vulgar language, but I think its just words with no meaning to them. It started some time in the past and some people must have thought it was a horrible word to express to one another.

I think it is bad when it gets to a certain point. Per say someone goes and curses at you and disses your mom or something obviously you won't stand for it, but then again its just a word which at moments of anger or pain you say.

The only thing is that I believe people and general kids my age should use less. I mean to describe things or win an argument without cursing for a kid my age is so rare.

But if you think of it now days people are thinking of obscured names such as like LOL, WTF, LMAO, BRB, GTG, Its getting to a point where people will make a simple word as happiness as a curse word.

Taken out of context or used exesively is bad, very bad. Otherwise I don't really have much of a problem.

I know a lot of people who uses them as a joke but I find it to be annoying when they keep using it for the sake of using them.

I'm someone who rarely uses them. (mostly on jokes) but I do avoid it as much as I can.

This is what I'm getting at. Could words REALLY hurt a person? I'm not sure for my self because I never got into a position where words really hurt me. Or could it be from different point of views?

Sometimes only a curse will get out the message you want..

That's true.

All I'm saying is that if you are having an intelligent argument/debate I wish people wouldn't use curse words. Not only does it show you aren't smart, but it shows that your family didn't do it's job imo.

For example yesterday at the park I go to some guy hit the girl in the face and the girl wild out on him. She brought her friends in gangs to come and fight him. It was a while commotion and you would here curse words flying all around. I mean wtf is that.

I don't think it's that bad. unless, like abaile said, it's used exessively. When every second word is a swear word, that's too much.

but then again, where I come from, swearing at eachother is just a way of showing affection. :P no one takes it seriously.

- hey asshole
- sup dumbass
*hugs*


of course with stronger words :P tho I can't translate.
english lacks swear words.

Again also true, people well I will say kids because I have never seen and adult say swear words to one another to be joking or show affection. Yeah just playing around they say swear words I guess.
