Words can hurt, but only when organized to make a hurtful sentence (Example: Son you are a worthless child and noone including me has ever or will ever love you...) but work people consider to be vulgar (F word B word ect) don't really do anything alone...

@csuti: nice place you live in (oh I'm not being sarcastic ^^)
well most of the people who swear here are kids and they just use it for the sake of it. I'm guessing some of them doesn't even know what their saying.
I am of the honest opinion that expletives improve my vocabulary.
It all down to perspective.

From my perspective, if someone called me a cracker melanin deficient whitey, even if they meant it, I really couldn't give a shit, those words have no weight.
Matters what you are saying imo the only really bad curse words are racial slurs.
haha that's the thing. altho the people aren't really kids, but they don't even really know the meaning of the words anymore. all the curse words lost their meaning.

I think words hurt my feelings all the time, or rather we can call it the arrangement of ideas using words. A novel concept really.
Fuck that shit, I "curse" my ass of, I don't give a fuck. Words are words. As long as their not insulting (which the main ones aren't) then I don't really see the problem. Most of them are just things (ass, shit) or expletives to give words stronger weight (fuck etc). I'm on the fence with what 98 said as things like cracker or nigger are racial slurs and I don't count them as curse words, they're still profane but its a different side of one large umbrella. You call me a nigger vs a fucking nigger to me its the same thing... something worth kicking your ass over.
I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Well, I actually curse a lot, especially when I'm joking around... but I always feel the need to tone it down or just not use it at all. Iono, I find cursing to be weak when talking to someone, expecially when used while you're debating about something. It just seems like they have nothing else intelligent to say so they say it or just to get another word or two in majority of the time.
Words can definitely hurt people, especially in a case were the person saying it actually knows you very well and means it. So if words didn't hurt, there would be a lot less arguing and fighting obviously. Plus there's a lot of insecure and self conscious people that get hurt easily.
