Really? Then why do people raise some animals for the sake of hurting them? How would you explain dog fighting and rooster fighting rings?Bullshit. Every normal person knows that it's wrong to inflict pain on defenceless creatures. It's an natural instinct hardwired into our brains.
Really? If they killed animals for the fun of shooting, why wouldn't they just go to the shooting range? No, its the actual act of harming the animal or seeing it drop that excites the hunter. That's completely different because for hunters it's not the kill or the act of harming the animal that brings pleasure.
I do think there is a potential danger if the person actually thought of animals as living breathing organisms. But if the person though of animals as toys for humans like recreational hunters, then I wouldn't hold their crimes against animals as applicable to humans. Nevertheless, the burning was a disgusting act. Only, I'm not sure you could punish her further than heavy fining. And why did they burn a cat in the first place? Because they got a kick out of hurting the innocent. Don't you think that there is a potential danger inherent in people who think that it's pleasant to hurt other creatures?
