That sounds like a good idea but it's most likely a hoax ... it's too good to be true.

mythbusters did a show on free energy and one of the things they made had a similar concept and it did produce energy like it was supposed to but not enough to actually do anything

Interesting. I wonder how big it would have to be to power my house? I can just see it costing a fortune and taking up my entire back yard just to power up the hot water heater.

Solar energy costs more than electricity and it takes a lot of square footage to produce energy just to heat water.

funny thing about these kind of reports. I always read them over the internet, yet I never see anything implemented.

Kinda like that TV show Dragon's den, you see all these great ideas get funding, yet they never seem to materialise. In fact I only know of two things that ever materialised, one of which was rejected by the dragons.
