    And no that I get pissed of with people for being afraid of death since I belive that there is nothing after therefore they don't have to be afraid acording to my point of view.
    Sorry, I don't think you understand. This thread is for "theistic" members, AKA, those that believe in (a) god. If you are atheistic, don't post here, please.

    I believe that heaven is not some perfect version of earth. Well, I do, but more than that. I think that humanity has a natural link to God. Something that is a part of you that you take for granted, don't even realize is there. And, like a limb, when it is taken away, you feel the loss acutely, and how much more-so would be a blow to your very soul? In that way, when the Bible says that in Hell there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth," it is my personal that you are completely and totally cut off from God. I think that pain is what "Hell" will be, not a burning underworld, but a dark, solitary eternity of complete and utter loneliness and isolation.

    In the same way, though heaven, I think, will be a perfect place, it will also be a perfect connection with God(that is the best way I can think of to put it). To be in the presence of a perfect being, forever, well, I can't think of anything more wonderful.

    Non-theistic members can post here, as long as, they want to ask things out of sheer curiosity. Inquiring with the purpose of trying to prove why the ideas/perspectives/beliefs of theistic people may be wrong is not allowed. The views of the theistic members in this thread is to be respected, and not questioned.

    Anyways, what about non-human beings? What do do you think that happens to them after death? I remember that when I was theistic, I was told that animals did not have a soul; therefore, they did not go anywhere (Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, etc).

    @Jakko - that’s almost Hindu of you.

    Back in the day, I used to believe that when I died I’d actually just stay in my personal imaginary land, with the ability to create new creatures and people at my will. It would also pretty much function like all imaginings do. I could follow a character I made up on an epic adventure or a tragic tale, or I could pretend that I myself was one of the great creatures. Far off lands, and unexplored regions of space, aliens, mythic creatures, legendary heroes, unfathomable villains, vast dangerous seas, time travel, and alternate universes. When I was very young I always though of the after life as this never ending journey of imagination and creation a state of being that embodied all of my hopes dreams and desires that was everything that I was. Not just everything that was me but that as a person I would continue to grow, learn, create, and even form new aspects of myself.

    This is really odd I know, but I think it come from the fact that even as a small child that I understood that death means that I no longer exist, that for me everything would stop, but if there was an after life that I would continue on, and for me to continue on I would still have to have the ability to grow in change, because if I stopped changing then I might as well be dead and no longer exist. That to me the whole point of existence is change, is improving that perfection is never acquired because all of reality is changing and moving.

    I'm skeptical of the fact of heaven. I mean people are dying everyday and it'll never stop until we become extinct. I mean heaven can get bigger and bigger but then itll just be ridiculous after awhile.

    The thought that it really IS a journey to another life is better. Once you die, you are reborn into another different world, where you will live another life. Same concept as reincarnation but a different world instead of the same. Reincarnation works too though.

    If there is nothing after death, it means that you don't get any second chances even though you hate this one, because that is all there is. I don't blame people for being afraid of nothing after death.. Believing in heaven and hell is a much more comforting thought

    Then which god do you believe in?
    If it is the Christian God, and you don't believe in the afterlife, sorry to say it, but your faith has major holes in it.

    I'm Christian too. ^^

    well I imagine Heaven will be ... hmm its hard to put it on words. Some kind of state where you can live a life of bliss where you'll never get tired of it. You will find Eternal happiness and it really depends on each individual. (Mine will probably be similar to my high school days... ah ^_____^)

    Hell is the exact opposite. You will go through hardship and pain that you wish you can just die and let it end but it will never will. Eternal damnation....

    It says in the bible that sex is basically a "taste of heaven", so heaven would be like... sex all the time... but not getting old... And we get to be with God... yay!
