hello all! im writing this to ask anyone who have traveled or live in Europe to tell me where the place to be is...im planning on going on an exchange next yr, my only predicament is my choice in country, im thinking either Spain, Germany or The Netherlands (muhahaha Amsterdam) but im just writing this to see if anyone have had fantastic times in one of these countries or maybe even another, ill be turning 18 which means ill have a beautiful night life on the weekends-not that it matters in most places in europe.
so basically just write in your thoughts on a terrific place to stay-will be greatly appreciated
Well you should stay out of eastern europe thats for sure.
But the netherlands are great, I've been there a couple of times ( in amsterdam ). Alot of people speak english there to. And the night life is great, and the city is really cool.
And oh there are some plants that are legal there, illegal in most countries except for holland if you know what I mean
havent been abroad myself....though if i could...i'd go to south korea. =D
I'd say Spain... for the last few years its been the country with the greatest quality of life ratings. People are just happy and cool there.
Spain would be good but beware the summer seasons if you plan on living near the coast.
Switzerland is beautiful and really calm. I don't know if that's what youre looking for. Otherwise, France and England are good places.
Netherlands > Spain > Germany imho.
Netherlands have beer and weed. Spain has cheap drinks and good food (Tapas). It's hotter in Spain and you can go to the beach there, if you go to the beach at the Netherlands then its very windy and quite cold.
Well, I have never been in Spain, just heard about it. I was just in the netherlands and germany.
Haha I just came home a couple of days ago from Barcelona, we were on a school trip. It was pretty cool but I prefer Holland.

But you should check Italy out man, 3 years ago I was in Milano, that rocked, Milano is really cool. But I was there only 2 weeks definetly going back sometime.
But I haven't been outside Europe yet lol. Really wanna go to Thailand :)
I did a semester in a city outside madrid, but made it to madrid almost every weekend, it was only a 30 minute train/bus ride. Spain is amazing and has the craziest night life in Europe. The night life starts late and i mean late compared to u.s. standards. The bars run from 10 to 2 a.m but starting the night at 10, you'll find yourself wasting lots of time. The night clubs dont start get going till 2, depending in what city you are in. Lets just say the clubs run from 2 a.m to 6-7 a.m. So when you get out of the clubs you can go to some of the breakfast places in madrid. i usually found myself going home between 4 and 5 in the morning and one or twice at 6. It can be expensive, but its crazy and its not as expensive as other cities.
Some down sides: they dont speak english, if your a minority the authorities are racist, the people are rude (but you'll get over that quickly), lots of PDA (apparently lots of americans have a hard time adjusting to this, but damn its fun if your the one doing it).
But all in all, Spain is amazing, beautiful women, their faces not so much, but they have nice bodies. The men were out of style when i went and were always a good source for a laugh. The fashion is nice if your a shopper. Lots of famous musuems and history. You can find a bunch of bootleg music which is illegal and i dont condone.
I went to amesterdam and thought it was overrated, there is so much more to do in madrid. And the only place in germany i went to was munich, which i enjoyed. Which i recommend visiting, especially Dalkal (i dont remember how to spell this town) because it was the location of the main concentration camp.
out of those three i would say Netherlands because over there practically everyone speaks english
