    MgO + H2O2 --> H2O + O2 + Mg... I guess? That's balanced.

    So MgO2 + H2O2 --> either H2O + O2 + MgO or H2 + O2 + Mg...

    I guess the explosion is the gases or whatever.

    I'm probably wrong, but I'm taking chemistry now and that's what I'd guess to be the products.

    Lets see

    MgO + H2O2 --> H2O + O2 + Mg

    Mg (s) + 2H2O(g) -> Mg(OH)2(aq) + H2(g).

    H2 plus the right type of energy such as flame or electrical spark would cause an explosion.

    Im study chemistry but i study proteins so i dont know complicated reactions.

    I know something like:

    NaOH + HCl ----> NaCl + H2O
    :
    :
    v
    Na + Cl ---> NaCl

    its an acid-base reaction...
    I hope im right there...

    I don't think it's an acid-base reaction, since H2O2 isn't giving a proton (H+) to MgO, and MgO has none to accept. That was one thing I did study. :3

    Oh shit! Chem exam tomorrow!

    You right about H2O2 but im talking about my reaction...
    oh and im wrong about the neto reaction...

    ill leave it as NaOH + HCl ----> NaCl + H2O

    Oh, sorry. Yeah, your first one is a neutralization reaction (acid + base --> salt + water), and your second one is synthesis.
