Seriously speaking, just go on about things as normal, dramatics don't work. Regaining trust is a long process and usually impossible to do because whoever it is that you hurt or whatever will always remember whatever it is that you did..at least somewhere in the back of their head.

Better yet, drop the person and start fresh with someone else.

it depends on how stupid the situation was... the level of what you should do to make it up to the person depends on the level of the stupidity...

but if they're just to stubborn and you think you've done enough and people around you have.. then yea just drop the person and start fresh

I have no clever joke. :/

That Van Gogh thing was great, though.

Step one: Figure out why it happened in the first place. You're going to need to know where you went wrong before you can fix anything.
Step two: Apologize sincerely. Communicate. Explain what you learned from step one and what you're going to do from now on to make sure it doesn't happen again. See if there's anything they're looking for from you.
Step three: Actually do what you said you were going to. Demonstrate that you're taking it seriously.
Step four: Patience. Trust is a complex thing. Regaining it depends on the severity of what caused you to lose it in the first place. It can take a short time, a long time, and in some cases it may never happen. Hope that the person whose trust you betrayed is both understanding and forgiving.

    Good luck.

Wow koam, what fantastic advice. But Akar, the bad news is that even if you do all this it may still not help. Once you have lost someone's trust it is very difficult to get it back.

Hurt them and threaten to kill their family until they forgive you.

Except don't make empty threats. Their family is not equal to your family.

Don't threaten to kill your friend's family, that is childish, and ineffective. Not a mature way of dealing with your problems at all.

Instead, actually kill the friends' entire family. Don't tell your friend. Then act as a shoulder to cry on. Works every time.

Jakko, you're a genius. You should start your own advice column. Seriously, mad props.
