That's ... messed up. Is he trying to get his own daughter addicted? Ridiculous.

I didn't read all of the comments, but I skimmed them briefly. Anyway I'm with Jakko on this one. I see a lot more irresponsible teenagers than I do mature responsible ones, and quite a few adults who should still be considered kids. I really don't see it working for the majority of America but thats just me. I don't drink anyway, but the age limit seems right imo.

As for the article, basically the same thing Cooler said.

    UK drinking laws.

it is legal for an adult to but you a glass with a meal and altohough it doesn't say it, I understand that yunder 18s are allowed to drink at home if their parents buy it.
Personally I think the age at which people are allowed to buy alchohol should be raised to 21. IMO that would stop most of the chavs and immature university students going out and binge drinking every night.

It really wouldn't. You'd just have even more people with fake IDs than before. It's 19 where I am, but I think 18 would be ok. The sooner they get over the ALKEEHAWLS!!11, the better.

    You're such an idealist.

That theory would die if you just spent one night (preferably Friday/Saturday) at any uni/college in the US. And I do emphasize on any.

Meh. I'm in high school and most of my friends have gotten drunk and made fools of themselves, and a lot of them are younger than me.

It's every night but tuesday here. Not me, but some girls in my dorm did. Those who lived next to the washrooms were displeased most nights.

I too am in high school, and...well, you can probably imagine. The alcohol usage rate at my school is very high.
