are online degree considered by employers at same level as in campus ones? the thing is that I'm thinking on going to college (Devry) and get a major in computer programing, but the nearest technical college that is worth going at is at about 1 hour drive from my home, and I don't like the idea of living in campus because I wouldn't be able to keep my job.
so what do you think, are online degrees regarded as highly as in campus ones?
when you make a resume there is also the name of the college that you got your degree from. it may or may not have some effect on an employer simply because they know about that college.
with that said, campus ones are better but as long as you are an expert in your field it wont matter too much.
the name of the institution would be devry, which I think is one of the best tech college there is.
but the thing is if I would be able to get a good job with the online degree as if I went to in campus classes.
I wouldn't know, but I would HIGHLY recommend living on campus. That's the ENTIRE college experience! You meet more people, easier to get friends, easier to know where parties are, ect.
You feel more attached to your college. It makes the 4 years highly enjoyable.
And remember, you only experience... and I mean TRULY experience college once in your life.
I was under the impression that online degrees are the things you get in spam mail where people are conned into paying money to get a fake degree.
that there is a lot of, but there are a bunch of college that allow you to take one to more classes online and get the class credit, or to even get your degree online. This sucks if I can't get a online degree that is worth the same as a in campus one I'm going to have to get another job >< near campusQuote:

Go To Campus! That is what Uni is all about. Seriously. You come out with a qualification, but the whole experience is about the stuff that goes on outside of class.
University without the student lifestyle is just a lot of hard and no fun. I've quit uni now, and although I did want the qualification, the main reason I went to uni in the first place was to be a student and experience the lifestyle. On campus, you will meet a lot of interesting people, do lots of fun and interesting things and generally create a lot of good (and bad (which are still good in their own right)) memories. Basically, I didn't come for the degree, I came for the experience.
