During the teen years, any difference more than 2 or 3 years gets really iffy. If anything there will be: "ew, you're dating a middle schooler/high schooler/college student?"

But I think as we get older, larger age differences are acceptable, but I still wouldn't go for it.
After all, I'd want to die at around the same time as my loved one.

urgh. this topic hurts ;_;. I once dated someone whos around 5 years younger than me. So I agree with all of you. age DOES matter. The generation gap and difference in interest is a big problem. Yes they will be able to find some similar interest but most of the time, they would want different things. This applies specially to teens. Girls do mature faster but it doesn't necessarily mean that they caught up with you.
now the question, which one is more disgusting? having a lot younger boyfriend or a lot younger girlfriend?
it depends on the situation but I don't want to see an old grannie with a young guy nor a teenage girl with a middle-aged man. >_< brrr

Of course age doesn't matter, depending on gender.

I find it very praise worthy if a boy 9 years of age manages to get with a women who is 28 years old. I would praise that child like a god. But of course if it was the other way around I would most likely put down the death penatly yo.

I guess once that we get into the working world, the age gap is not only less taboo, but less noticable as well. After all, there are no classifiers for how old you are anymore (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, etc.)

Say... On the subject of dating older/younger people...
How far would YOU personally go.
Say you were 19... and really needed money off a rich man/woman to erm... cure a friend's illness.
What would be your border age of the person you would marry? 50? 60? ;]

Yeah, age matters... it isn't even a matter of love, since you can love someone all you want, but it doesn't change a thing if you were born in different generations. You still grew up at different times and have had different life experiences. That does make a huge difference.

Hmm, but on the subject of how old... well, there are some very attractive (yes, and rich) thirty-somethings out there. =P But at my age, a relationship with a guy that old would be really, really creepy.

And contrary to what all of you are saying on #HS, two years younger than me is NOT creepy. >_>

I simply wouldn't lower myself to those standards. Sure my friend's ill but I'm sure s/he'll get over it sooner or later. I'm sure his/her parents can think of ways to get their own offspring money. ^^ Yes I'm being serious yo.

if you have no other choice than prostitution, then the age doesn't matter much, or does it ? (as marrying someone for profit is no different than prostituting yourself)
