I used to have a 30GB Creative Works Zen Vision. It played videos, held pictures, music, documents, you could record your voice, had FM radio, you could record the FM Radio, and you could also set one of your pictures as a background.
Eventually it broke... and I decided to buy a 30GB iPod...
It played music, videos, held pictures, had 3 crappy games, and could hold documents as long as they were text.... and it cost the same exact thing as the Zen even though it had less, but I bought it, because it was an iPod and I was under the mind control of Apple.
Three weeks ago that iPod was stolen... and I am pissed.
So, if I decide to wast emore money on an expensive MP3 Player... I might use that link... so I'll save it to my favorites.
DISCMAN ALL THE WAY.
That's right, I refuse to switch to an MP3 player. I've already spent hundreds on my CDs, and I am NOT paying for a song twice. (Which I think I would have to do, since CDs have that lame copy protect stuff now, so I couldn't move them from CD -> computer -> MP3 player.)
Although, I broke my discman recently (dropped in on the floor...for the third or fourth time), so now I'm borrowing a friend's. Meaning I need to shell out for a new music player sometime soon. But I'm still thinking discman > iPod.
So, any way to make a discman look like an iPod? You know, since my twelve year old sister is buying one...I'm going to look antiquated.
you will have to stretch the images i posted if you want to enter a discman in those :P
But frankly, a discman is simply too big, heavy, fragile and power hungry
You live in Canada, right ? i am quite sure that you have a right to make private copies for yourself from your songs, allowing you to copy your disks onto your PC and your walkman (*in need of confirmation*)
I am less sure, but i think that you can download songs from the net without problems... or it was the case some years ago at least :P
Well the Mac Mini is a CD size, that will fit nicely.
Weird, I can easily move my legal audio CD to my MP3.
I still own Walkman basically used that to record stuff, such as recording my old roommate sleep talking, exgf moaning on the phone, etc.
anyways I own the first generation of the Nano, even though it's flawed in some aspects compared to it's successor, it has the best aesthetic case design.
mp3's > walkmans.
as for recommendations....anything as long as u can party like a rockstar. =D
how do you do mp3 -> walkmans? Play a song off of your computer and keep a tape recorder next to it?
I need to buy a mp3 player. At this point I'm no better off than Kaom because I haven't bought a mp3 player before. But I do have a ton of music on my comp...
I think I'll take your advice Shautieh.
Btw, I like functionality over trendiness. I think the iPod shuffle and nano are both retarded and would favor getting something with 10x memory and twice the size that is priced about the same. If you have suggestions for this kind of preference aside from the one already mentioned (iRiver/Creative/Archos), please holler.
Easy, you need an audio in jack on your walkman or stereo to record the sound.
Shuffle is retarded, especially when you can't pick your own song.
but Nano is genius step into MP3 player design. Small, sleek, easy navigation, can be hacked into a video player, the only retarded about it is the audio file format.
But it only has like 2 gigs of space. And costs as much as a regular iPod that has so much more space.
What are you talking about?
Even the first generation of Nano has 4 Gigs,
and if you want, you can upgrade to 8 gigs on your own risk.
Size and portability come with a price, just like laptop, the smaller laptop it gets the more expensive it is. Although there's a cheaper version of iPod, the IPOD is half the price.
I was talking about the iPod video:
Comparing the iPod video and the nano (#5 and 6), the iPod video has more functionality, almost 4x as much memory, and is slightly cheaper than the 8GB nano. I was saying before that I prefer the functionality over the slighly more trendiness you get from a nano. Its not as if the iPod vid is a huge machine you have to lug around. A smaller size only makes a marginal difference (to me at least).
