On the topic of ipods, which do you think i should buy? Ipod video or Ipod nano?

I have that ugly 20gb ipod and I want something more portable/compact like. But.. I also like the idea that the ipod video has a video option... cause I'd use it to watch my beloved tv shows. GRRRrr... decisions decisions. -.-

hmm well each one has it advantages/disadvantages

ipod vid can watch show/movie on it, quite alot of space, and imo i think it looks much better then a nano. The bad thing about it is that the battery life is not that long, around 6hours if you watch movies/ shows on it and around 8 hours if u just listen to music. You would have to convert the movie/show into a mp4 format inorder to let it watch it in the ipod. It would literaly cost you an arm or leg lol.

For me i picked the ipod vid and i didnt really reget buying it except for the fact that it cost me an arm and also playing extra for extend warrenty on it. . . but now i dont have to have to choose what songs to put into it cause of the large amount space provided and for a person like me who takes long daily bus rides i can once in a while when im bored of listen to music i can watch some movies or shows. I know what a said seems really biased but i hope this helps a little.

iPods suck, get something that won't fail in three weeks. They're more style value than actual product value.

Only got an MP3... And I can't be arsed actually getting an iPod.
I don't listen to 1000's of songs anyway and it'd be better to have a Sony Erricson phone :/

I have this seven year old computer and a nokia 3210- the original popular mobile phone. I'll most likely never get an ipod/mp3 player. Every time I see someone on the street with them walking alone I wonder...where the hell is the mugger? It's SUCH an opportunity. I mean, they won't even hear you coming because of the headphones!

Not that I'd steal them. But come on, you gotta wonder...

Mine's a Nokia 3310 xD

Am getting a new one in a few weeks though.
I woulda gotten the new Sony Ericcson that makes me drool.
But apparantly it's about 300 quid :/

@cpr and sherman : it depends on what functionalities you would like, but i recommend either a iRiver or a Creative (or Archos if you want video)

@SD : if you don't like ipods' look (i don't like it that much either ;p), then you should be happy as you have now no reason to buy one of these craps at all ! and don't even need to cover your mp3 player with a false ipod look lol

Yeah my busted MP3 player was a Creative one. Went pretty well. Till it broke. That little knob that you use to select songs broke clean off. Inside.
