I thought squatty potties were more common in Japan? I wouldn't think you would need much training for that...

Are you kidding? Those things are way more tricky to use. Just collapsing down onto a seat is easy. In those squat things you have to have exceptional balance and tenacity in your legs, as well as being careful not to piss in your own pants. You can't really use your hands for balance or anything either, as the whole place tends to be covered in shit. I hate the damn things.

Oh god... The only toilets on the train to Beijing was like that.
    God it was awful.
I opened this door to a room- there was a hole in the middle of a floor.... and a random pile of crap just sitting next to it steaming away.

It must have been the most disgusted moment of my life.

Theyre all over in Asia, so country doesn't matter.

I think they're slowly transitioning themselves to the western toilets now though. Either that or they want their tourists as comfortable as possible.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

    I got bad news.

My next year's Japanese teacher may not be this year's Japanese teacher.

    So...

I might not be able to learn funny Japanese phrases for you all anymore.

    *sobs*
