Uhhhh, I think they actually made a good point with the peanut butter video. How is it that amino acids, when combined with energy and heat, create life? Explain that.

Given that it took over 1 billion years for the first nascent signs of what could be called life to appear I think it's quite feasible Jakko. It began just as favourable reactions, like formation of lipid vesicles as a result of shared hydrophobicity of the molecules. Then on and on from there. I'm sure you've heard the saying 'given enough time, anything is possible'. However a jar of peanut butter is, I imagine, pretty inert and can't logically be compared to the primordial soup can it? Not to mention the difference in time scale..

It doesn't have to create life in the classical sense (carbon-hydrogen based aggregations that replicate through DNA or RNA templates), it just has to create some sort of self replicating system.

And that can be accomplished very simply, I've done it in bio-lab back in high school.

Besides, evolution doesn't have to be "true" as it currently is, common descent can definitely be proven for various groups of organism, so what's the problem?

I find it quite sad that creationists keep attacking evolution theory because they're scared that it might not have been God's work after all (evolution is not saying that god doesn't exist per se, just that he/she/it didn't create life). Evolutionists don't care what they want to believe, yet creationists still keep attacking even though evolutionists are not going to be converted. Its like watching someone falling from a cliff and watching them try to reach for the weak grass.
