Interesting article. But it do says that the fruition will be at 10-15 years. So it is still a long time then...
Well, if the internet was put into a central backbone in Area 51 like Deus Ex Game, it would not be so hard to replace it... maybe ....... ^___^

Kyuubi : Agreed, look like a neural network to me too

Hmm, i'm wary of the government getting their hands on too much of the process through funding. Worries me, it does.

On the other hand, if the government won't fund the project, who will? Even if private corporations had the money to fund such an mammoth undertaking I doubt that they would be willing to pay many billions for uncertain benefits.

Wow, that was an ugly picture.

We should start making people do thumbnails. These pics that stretch the screen are getting annoying.

    +1

I don't see what this new internet could add except a better control over it from the authorities and powerful lobbies...

Well, I just used the largest image because I could.

Get rid of the 4 image limit, and I'll use all the normal sized images you want.

    On to other things.

This "new internet" would make it much more difficult to hack, it would be more robust, and basically better.

Also, someone needs to beat the shit out of those countries who are seperating their intarwebs... from the web.

Seriously, closed networks, not cool. Unless your some government company, but then they can just steal your data wirelessly.
