I've seen a presentation on it and the facts are pretty disheartening. Child prostitution is illegal, but apparently the people just see it as part of tradition and don't really do all that much about it.

i have known many catholic priests when i was a little kid and none tried to take advantage of me... and i know i'm stating the obvious as the outstandind majority is of course not pedophile unlike what you are implying, but it had to be said nevertheless..
